Threaded Pipes

Materials

Pipes can be machined in various plastics, metals and composites including:

  • PVC

  • Steel including Stainless steel

  • Polyethylene

  • HDPE

  • Nylon

  • Bronze

  • PTFE

Benefits of threaded pipes

  • Increased connection strength, particularly over vertical distances

  • Ease of assembly

  • High internal and external pressure capabilities

  • Pressure tight seal

  • Less susceptible to leaks

  • Connection without the use of adhesives or other permanent fixtures

Sizes

  • Pipe sizes range from DN 15 to DN 375

  • Standard pipe lengths include 3m and 6m however, can be supplied in all sizes up to 6.1m lengths.

  • Pipes can be machined with female and/or male threads to enable a pipe join. The female thread is machined on the inside, whilst the male thread is on the outside of the pipe.

Functions

  • Transportation of fluids, liquids, gases in various industries

  • Irrigation and reticulation pipe

  • Cable conduits

  • MPSP and riser pipes

  • Drainage

  • Protective barrier

Industries and applications

Machined pipes can be used for domestic and commercial use in industries including:

  • Mining

  • Drilling and exploration

  • Power generation

  • Construction

  • Plumbing

  • Desalination

  • Agriculture

Slotted Pipes

Slotted pipes or perforated pipes are primarily utilised for bore and drainage of excess water that may cause soil degradation.

Materials

  • Primarily made of PVC

  • Fibreglass

  • Mild steel

  • Thermoplastics including HDPE to avoid corrosion

Benefits of threaded pipes

  • Increased connection strength, particularly over vertical distances

  • Ease of assembly

  • High internal and external pressure capabilities

  • Pressure tight seal

  • Less susceptible to leaks

  • Connection without the use of adhesives or other permanent fixtures

Sizes

  • Pipe sizes range from DN 15 to DN 375

  • Variety of sizes, strengths, and wall thicknesses.

  • Standard pipe lengths include 3m and 6m however, can be supplied in all sizes up to 6.1m lengths.

  • Longitudinal slots are machined to avoid clogging from underground debris including sand and gravel.

  • Pipes can be machined with female and/or male threads to enable a pipe join. The female thread is machined on the inside, whilst the male thread is on the outside of the pipe.

Industries and applications

Machined pipes can be used for domestic and commercial use in industries including:

  • Mining

  • Drilling and exploration

  • Power generation

  • Construction

  • Plumbing

  • Desalination

  • Agriculture

Functions

  • Drainage of fluids, liquids, gases in various industries

  • Irrigation and reticulation pipe

  • MPSP and riser pipes

  • ·Protective barrier

Machining capabilities

  • Slotted pipes are machined on-site using our automated pipe feeding machining and drilling station with CNC lathe to ensure uniform slots and consistent quality. Slot size and pattern depends on the application, drainage purposes and amount being drained. Half or full perforations can be done.

  • A polypropylene geotextile “sock” can be applied to assist with filtering and drainage.

  • A threaded, weld or solder fitted pipe end can be manufactured as per customer specification. Fittings can also be supplied as requested, with commonly used including caps, seals, plugs, nipples, elbows, crosses, bushings, bends, reducers, flanges and adaptors.

  • A slotted pipe may be assembled with thread tape, sealant, or lubricant.
If required, slotted pipes can be packaged in LDPE heat shrink wrap for UV protection. These can be retained in wooden bearers and straps for transportation protection.
